Rocket jumping numb nuts

So my friend and I are on a jump academy map in tf2 and we have been neck and neck this entire time. We both get stuck on this long wall (obstacle 5, wall jumping course) and we are so mad that we just saved and quit for the night. but we were learning how to strafe and do things the hard way the entire night. It's not even useful in pubs and hardly in comp but we find our fun laughing at so close we are then die when the other figures it out but just cant complete. I was wonderin if you guys are the same way?
