Ok, before anyone starts screaming about how this is ludicrous, read the post, and please, keep this civil.

Here's my idea: You integrate a LDR resistor, and a small array of LEDs on the back of your VR device, then in each corner (square rooms would probably work best, if at all) place a LDR resistor, and a small array of LEDs on a swivel, that is tracked through sensors placed directly above the array of LEDs, to tell the swivel how to align the transceivers. All data would be broadcasted through the transceivers, and the sensors are just for more accurate direction of where to send the data.

If this were plausible, would it eliminate the bandwidth issues, and if you added a rechargeable battery pack into the VR device, the tether also?

Motivation is where, and what you make of it.

To some extent, yes, but not enough to mitigate the connection. Also, people with enough money for VR, have enough time, and money to fix those problems.

Motivation is where, and what you make of it.
