Hi people :D

 

I'm currently running a i5 4690K , and I'm saving up to custom build my own PC and was thinking is it worth waiting for kaby lake to come out and see if skylake drops .

 

Ive seen in the past that older gen processor drop about 10%-20% when a new gen comes out .

 

Alittle or just straight up go for skylake and miss kaby lake .?

 

Current build i5 4690k , 16gb ram and gtx 980ti

Older gen processors normally do not drop in price.

 

But competition from AMD's Ryzen processors may cause price adjustments on the Intel side too, even if you aren't interested in an AMD system.

 

Kaby Lake itself is a pretty shrugworthy upgrade over the older Skylake CPUs.

 

Anyway, for gaming, your 4690K should still be more than fine.
