Black screen when in game!

Ever since I got my new monitor and when I am in game, when I press the windows key by accident or otherwise, the screen goes black and stays like that. There is no cursor and I don't hear the game sound. At that point I just have to hold down the power button on my pc to turn it off so I could do what I want again until i press the windows key again. I just want to know how to fix this issue so I don't have to deal with this frustrating prospect again

Right click desktop, go to display settings, advanced, display adaptor properties, monitor, and change to 60 FPS.

Nope. I have an i3 and an rx 460 or do you mean the monitor?
