Storage size

AgentM101

I have this build that I built specifically for MSI's Holiday Build contest, where you create a build with specific components being MSI-branded, but anything else can be whatever. I'm almost finished with my build, but I can't decide how I want to split up the storage. Right now, it has a 850 Pro 256GB SSD and a WD Gold 8TB HDD. Is there another way to better split it up, like more SSD space than HDD space? Thanks.

Here's the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/AgentM101/saved/CkRK8d

Current PC: Toshiba Satellite L850D - A8-4500M - Radeon 7640M - 1TB HDD - Steelseries QcK - Logitech M325

yea just get a 1tb m.2 drive and a 4tb (or 3tb depending on max spending).

get a 1tb samsung 960 evo and a 4tb seagate drive. or maybe just go 2tb 960 pro evo because for gaming i wouldn't see a need for much more tbh.

That's a lot less storage, I wanted a big HDD for video recordings and things.

Yeah, that's the problem, they set a $3,000 USD budget, so I have to work everything around that. I also prefer WD drives, js.

there's no real reason to prefer WD unless you like their company ethics. they both produce excellent products. just go with a 500gb samsun m.2 ssd and get some normal sata samsung 850 ssd's for additional space.

I know it's a fast drive, but I still need the bigger storage for my other stuff that I will be transferring to the new pc if I win.

The reason I prefer WD is I know that they are more reliable than SG or other manufacturers.
