Shared Networking From One Computer To Another...

Hello, I have a dell xps 420 that has no WiFi card and i have a dell inspiron 15 that does have a WiFi card and I'm trying to share the network from the laptop to the xps. I have them connected via Ethernet and when i share WiFi to Ethernet on the laptop the xps just shows up as unidentified network, no internet. Am I doing something wrong? I have network drivers up to date on both computers and i have tried this with 3 different Ethernet cables.    Thanks in advance
