Problems with gsync & Heat ?!?!?!

Then this is a visual glitch, nothing more. it will be fixed in due course. If you don't like the behaviour, turn it off of set a static colour in the monitors OSD.

Anyway, a lot of heat is generated which is concentrated center bottom of the screen. So unless you are getting artifacting or a non-responsive screen, it's fine and nothing to worry about.

If gsync is enabled, all communications with the monitor will be going through the gsync protocol, the option to exclude windowed applications is simply a compatibility option.

Set a static color in the monitors on screen display ?. You can't?

I recently got my Asus pg278q gsync monitor but I have realised that the red led located on the bezel of the monitor Constantly stays on, including while I'm Afk/on desktop ect.

Does this mean my gsync is constantly on ?! And will it affect anything.

I also noticed a lot of heat in the bottom right corner stretching along the bottom of the panel. It does feel quite hot and not sure if this is normal or could it be from gsync being 'stuck' on.

Any ideas guys.

Thanks in advance

The red led is probably the power light, telling you that the monitor has power. This has been a staple feature for the best part of 30 years.

Heat is normal unless you're literally burning yourself.

GSync is technically always on unless outright disabled.

Monitors are generally designed to operate at temps of up to 85c with max temps around 110c before damage.

Hmm. I see. But the light on swift rog products do indicate if gsync is on or off, also showing a different illumination if ULMB ( ultra low motion blur) is on. Or plain white ( I think that's how it should be ) when doing anything other than gaming.

Is it setup like that in the settings? As far as I know this type of setting can be changed. Don't have a rog monitor so not 100% sure.

Not 100% surethane if I get what you mean but you can change the gsync settings to *use with full screen* OR *use with windowed and full screen* none make a difference. Only toggling gsync off manually will make the red light then turn to white. But I'd have to toggle everything I start a game

Sorry I meant the monitors settings will control what the led means.

The option of fullscreen or windowed and fullscreen option is software only and has nothing to do with the monitor itself. Thus changing this option will have no effect on heat generated.

The led only means what state the monitor is in.

Red = gsync on

White = nothing on

Yellow/orange = ULMB on

Ect.  But uhhhhh still don't know why the gsync is const on

Because that's how it works. Think of it like this: Traditionally the gpu has only been a transmitter and the monitor only a receiver.

With g-sync though, both gpu and monitor are transmitter and receiver, they're able to talk to each other.

This removes or at least heavily reduces tearing. If you turn gsync off, the monitor will revert to the standard setup of receiver and the gpu as transmitter.

Yes but as if I need this when I'm just on YouTube or on the desktop. I've done other research and the light is *meant* to go off while not gaming. But apparently new Drivers have messed around with it. Other than that and the weird amounts of heat I'm not sure ?
