Looking to get into Civ 6, any tips?

Kinda got burnt out on first person shooters and I was looking for some new challenging experiences. I have never played any of the Civ franchise, but the learning curve seems to be fun. 

Forgive me El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education...

Maybe if you don't wanna spend the $50(?) for civ 6, pick up civ 5.

 

Not the most recent game, but is one of the best.

CIV 6 > CIV 5 > CIV 4 > CIV 3 > CIV 2 > CIV
