Someone told me to go for either the lg wh14ns40 or 16ns40 and no one has been able to give me a clear answer on this or help me find the right one.

I am highly confused with this as if I go to amazon I see that second drive I posted in the pictures saying it is either a wh14ns40 or a 16ns40 but how can they both be the same drive when they look different when some people say one is a bad one and all that and one guy on tomshardware said that the second one was a uh12ns30 but I see pics on pcpartpicker and amazon under a wh14ns40 that looks just like it so can anyone help me find the right one?

But I'm not sure if I am getting the real thing as I do use the optical drive a lot on my laptop, but that has nothing to do with my question as stated above

So as long as it works you should be fine your buying from newegg after all

I don't know which one is the older one that's what I'm trying to figure out, because they are all labeled the same thing with different faceplates with reviews on amazon saying two completely different things and people getting two different ones
