Crashes

I'm just wondering what cause games to crash. On any game I try the game crashes and just return to the windows desktop.

Sometimes I can play for hours and other times it happens at the beginning

We cant help you if you don't list anything specific, What game is it? What are your pc specs? Does any of the games give off error codes? Are your drivers up to date?

Okay drivers up-to-date it has happened on every game 

Asus p5q se / epu

Q6700 @3.2ghz

2x2gb ddr2

2x1gb ddr2

Msi rx 470

A segate 80gb and a 2000gb

600w psu( but it's old and I have to use SATA to pcie to power my card)

At least graphics card drivers are up-to-date I don't know what else I can update

I'm just curious what are a few examples of why a game would crash

It does not give me error messages most of the time it just goes to the windows desktop and I have to control alt delete and end the game or else I can't do anything

From my knowledge:

 

CPU OR PSU, CPU might be killing itself OR the PSU is some dodgy 3rd party power supply. Also the CPU would be massively bottlenecking that rx 470. It also could be windows, you may need to reinstall windows

Okay this is just temporary until I see amd zen or just an i5 skylake  so I can build a new computer. I'll get a new power supply and hard drive after Christmas
