1060 vs 1070

i am building my first gaming pc a wanted to know if the 1070 is worth the extra £130 over the 1060. thanks

If you already have a 1440p monitor, yes

If you don't have a monitor at all, you'll have to pay for that or a high-refresh 1080p monitor because 1080p 60hz can be done on a 1060, no need for a 1070.

It depends on what games you play but I would think that the 1060 is better for a budget and if you have enough money, why not go for the 1080?

1070 is better, and justifies the higher price tag.

However, if you're just playing CSGO and rocket league, then even a 1060 is more than you need unless you're going 4k.

what about games like gta 5 and battlefiled 1

As others said, it also largely depends on your monitor.

If you are running a plain 1080p 60hz monitor. The 1060 will be fine for pretty much any current games. GTA V should run pretty well and BF1 will fly on that card.

If you are interested in 1440p or high refresh rate monitors, definitely go for the 1070.

 

Also, while I hate using "future proof", the 1070 should definitely be relevant a year or 2 longer than the 1060 with new titles coming out.
