Randomly getting low ass FPS?

lol no servers cap fps @ 600 fps because when you're at that you can litterally walk without making a sound. Also I play @ 250 because of strafing advantages and it overall feels smoother. Also they banned 333 because of the height you can jump.

 

I'm switching back to windows 7 to see if the performance goes back to normal. Don't even like windows 8 tbh.

Specs:

Phenom II x4 965t @ 3.4ghz

Radeon 7870 ghz xfx double d black edition

16gb vengeance

h60

pny xlr98pro ssd

 

So basically I'im getting 100~ fps on call of duty 4 on MINIMUM.

I can ussually run this game maxed out @ 250+ lol.

 

What changes have I done recently?

 

Installed visual studio 2013 ultimate

 

Installed new ASUS USB AC53 drivers

 

What I've done:

 

Re installed graphics driver

 

Deleted cod4 cfg and reset it

You've obviously never played cod 4 promod then.. Getting anything less than 125 constant is a huge deal. Especially for a machine like mine to be running the game on minimum at shit fps like that

He is right @Sarcasm

The CoD 4 engine cares what FPS the game is running at. Higher FPS means you can jump higher. This enables you to get in places that weren't thought possible to get with a normal 60FPS setup. It also enables you to throw grenades farther (because jumping matters for that and the physics in CoD4 aren't realistic, so the arc of the grenade decides everything, meaning jumping higher = farther throws).

There are other things it matters for as well.

Last I heard, they started capping FPSs because of that. I heard once you were over 200 frames or something you no longer made footstep noises and all.

Yup.

So they cap it at 200 FPS (roughly). He is getting 100 FPS. ... Pretty sure that's a major disadvantage.

Also, I would love to help you OP, but I have no idea. Whatsoever. :(
