The division crash to desktop

rcole134

Hello. Hopefully theirs some knowledgeable people put there who can help me solve the issue I'm having. I have 2 GTX 1080's in SLi, 16Gb RAM and a 4790k OC to 4.7GHz. The issue I'm having is if I select either one of the nvidia shadow options (PCSS or HFTS) then I get a crash to desktop. If I don't then everything is completely fine. Does anybody out there know how to fix this stupid issue?

Hmm Sli is iffy to say the least

but here are some steps that you can try

*Repair game files
*Update drivers

*Try to disable one card and see it that fixes it

Agree, many people have issues with SLI and crossfire. Use one GPU and retry your settings. See if you get the same result with 1 GPU vs 2.

I don't know if the issue is related or not but for me the divsion crashes to desktop without an error with newer nvidia drivers 376.XX+ for sure, Never tried any of the 375.XX drivers I don't have any on hand. Another one of my games will only run on 373.XX drivers (same crash to desktop issue on this game too) so I keep them on hand to swap between.

Thank-you for your suggestions. It turns out that disabling SLi allowed me to select the nvidia shadow settings while allowing the game to not crash. The strange thing is that after re-enabling SLi the game doesn't crash anymore.
