How can I tell which pinouts is what?

You'd need to find a pinout on the specsheet or usermanual for your PSU. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers make the pinout public, so you may not be able to find one.

Seems like your PSU does have its pinout listed in the user manual. http://www.coolmaxusa.com/download/userManual/CUG-950B.pdf

You'll need to match that with another PSU and see if you can buy an 8 pin connector for it, or you can buy an 8pin extension cable, buy a connector that fits your PSU, then move the cables to match the standard motherboard pinout.

Motherboard pinouts can be found here https://www.moddiy.com/pages/Power-Supply-Connectors-%26-Pinouts.html

Do you have a recommendation on what PSU I can salvage from?

Don't know of any PSUs that match it off the top of my head. To be honest, I'd go down the extension route or buy the connectors, 8 wires in the length that you need and wire it up from scratch. Cablemod sell pre-made cables, so all you'd need to do is put the cables in the connectors in the right place.

I went to the website but I cannot find one made specifically for CPU

Cablemod? If so, I mean the actual cable wires, not a full cable with connectors. 8 of those and buy the connectors you need, then just plug them in to match the pinout of your PSU and motherboard (motherboards all use the same pinout standard)

If you wanted to go down the extension cable route, have a look at Bitfenix's range of extensions. An issue you may have is with the length, as they're designed to go on the end of existing cables. You may still have an issue getting a connector that actually fits in your PSU. A lot of manufacturers use non-standard connectors to make it hard to accidentally plug things in wrong.

You could always try contacting your PSU's manufacturer and see if they have spare cables for sale or can you link you to somewhere that does.
