Hi,

i have just bought a brand new ultrawide 1440p monitor from ASUS, its a great monitor but for some reason, in certain games, the objective markers on the screen are mis-aligned with the objectives themselves (screenshots attached). it doesnt happen in the older games i play, but in some of the newer ones (like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Rise of the Tomb Raider) the objective markers appear of to the right of where they should be.

has anyone else who uses an ultrawide monitor come across this issue? any ideas on how to fix it would be great. it is a fantastic monitor but the experience is ruined by this little issue.

Many Thanks.

Hi there. Welcome to the forums.

I own this same monitor and I do not experience a similar issue. Even if your screen is stretching from using a lower resolution, this shouldn't be happening. It's a calculation error possibly from the game engine or your video card is seriously losing its mind.

I'm bookmarking this thread and double checking this evening when I get home.

What video card do you own?

Interesting. I'll report back later this evening.

I appreciate it thanks. FYI, i have tried a few different things to try and locate the source of the problem.

I tried running the game on a 16:9 aspect ration monitor and it worked fine without any issues.I

tried swapping out the display port cable and changing it to HDMI input, but the issue remained there both times.

I also tried updating and re-installing the graphics drivers, no effect again

Unfortunately i am unable to test it using a different Nvidia graphics card as i only have an AMD one available, i will test it on that shortly but i need to swap all the drivers out first.

Are you using 3440x1440 resolution with 21:9 ratio? That should give you optimal results.

yes, i have tried a handful of different resolutions and it is set to 21:9 aspect ratio.

I just tried switching the game into windowed mode and when the window is in a 16:9 size the issue is gone, but when i expand the window it returns, so it must be a problem with the way the games are scaling to 21:9.

Interesting. I wonder if I'll have the same issue.

How far into the RotTR was that screenshot taken? I've only played about 5 minutes so far and it doesn't look terribly familiar to me.

its quite close to the beginning i think about 25-30 mins in, just get to a point where you need to collect something from the environment and go into survival instinct mode (press Q) the objective markers dont line up with the glowing objectives on screen.

is there a separate driver that i need to install for the monitor or is it all in the Nvidia control drivers?

It's just the Nvidia drivers

I finally had a chance to test it out this morning. Yup I'm definitely having a similar issue. Sometimes it's tolerable, sometimes it's just flat out awful (look at my second pic). I don't think this is a monitor issue though. The monitor just takes information and displays it, it doesn't really process different objects on the screen. Definitely an issue with the game IMO

I reduced the resolution to 1080p and still had the issue...
