Some display questions.

I've  got a AOC U3277PQU 4k ips monitor for premier pro and single player gaming. At the same time I like playing competitive fps games like CS:GO ans RS:S. So I want to get an additional 1440p 144hz monitor because higher refresh rates 4k monitors are not yet available. Is it even technically possible to combine different resolution displays? And how would windows handle it? Thank you for your help.

Works fine, makes for weird looking screenshots though:

These are also two different refresh rates and it works fine.

(i.e no dual-monitor gaming)

I ran this as an eyefinity setup for a bit, it works  but it's not the best experience, odd to say the least :P

Sounds... interesting

3200x1080-56*1280 sound like an odd enough resolution? ;)

Took some time, I am using a VGA splitter, which makes windows go weard with setting consider the purpose of them screenshots.

Windows screenshots are in dutch, but I think you can figure things out.

Disabled 2nd screen. Drop-down gives 3 options. (should be 4, if connected to the same GPU)

-Extend screen

-Only use screen nr 1

-Only use screen nr 2

-Not shown, but clone screen. (resolution and things like that are being forced as "the same", and both screens need to be on the same GPU/SLI/Crossfire set-up)

Some AMD cataclyst settings, I am using windows settings.

Example of windows settings with an extended desktop, with 2 different monitors, at different resolutions. You can also drag the position of the screens, so you can, for example, drag screen nr 2, to the left of screen nr 1. (or at the bottom, or just at a random location. Just fucks up your cursor, because you can lose track/find the place where you need to enter the other screen...

Most modern games have settings as to which screen you want to output to. (example is from the game "space engineers") Select the proper adapter/monitor, and the game will be displayed full-screen on that monitor. Desktop will still be visible on the second screen. Cursor might get fucked up when accesing the 2nd screen depending on game/settings.
