Does cas latency matter?

I parents bought me some corsair lpx ddr4 ram at 2666 MHz cas latency 16. I didn't realize that the cas latency was so high when I recommended it to them. I heard that sometimes the cas latency and speed can affect performance in CPU intensive titles. I plan on playing bf1. My questions are: is this ram bad? Also, is it worth it to do a return?

It matters, but it won't make a massive difference to you as a user especially at a decent clock speed like that.

This is the first time I hear about it.. You won't notice.. It won't hurt your gaming experience, I that's what you're afraid of.. My is 15 tho.. but my monitor is like 6ms so.. Don't worry
