Low FPS on 144hz Monitor

Ellargo333

Hi!

I have recently bought the Asus Strix gtx1070 and I am thinking of buying a 144hz monitor. (Asus vg248qe)

I play many AAA games.. so at ultra settings they will not be at 144.. maybe 100+....

What effect will it have?

Thank you all!

PD: Sorry for my english..

At around 40-50fps you can get stutters. Usually if the fps drops from a higher number to that. So try and lock your fps to over 60. Worth the change in settings.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Try and keep it stable. Since your monitor has a wider range of fps compared to a 60Hz monitor (60 vs 144). Sudden spikes in FPS will probably cause massive screen tearing. Just keep it stable by using VSync or something.

If money isn't a constraint, get a gsync monitor.

Consider a G sync monitor and forget about all this . it will blow your mind how smooth things are regardless of the inconsistensies in fps
