I have a circle 550 watt psu which is 3 years old now but I started using it from past 6 months it was unused for 2.5 years.

Now I am facing force shutdowns as if power supply from psu has been stopped.

As my psu is out of warranty any idea how can I fix this issue? Or troubleshoot the psu.

My pc specs:

i5 6600k

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

Cooler Master Evo 212x

G.skill Trident Z 8x2 16gb 3000mhz

WD 5400rpm 1tb hdd

Adata SP550 240gb ssd

Asus 650ti Boost 2gb DDR5.

Circle 550 watt psu.

When it shuts down, do you have to toggle the switch on the back of the PSU in order to get the machine to power back on?

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

You need to buy a new one. Unlike batteries, PSUs can't be recharged and you probably won't figure out what's broke inside to repair it yourself. Getting it repaired (if possible) would cost similar to getting a new one anyway. You're also free to try finding a working used one on ebay or wherever if you want to gamble with that.

No I dont need to toggle the switch. I just have to use power on switch to turn it on as we do normally. It turns back on for few min and then after sometime it shutsdown again. I think I'll buy a new one.

It is not PSU related.  Its probably heat related.

Now the heat might be caused by a drooping PSU...

I doubt its heat related. My cpu temperature stays around 35-45 and gpu around 40-45 always.

It can be anything heating up... even a VRM module.  If you don't have to flip the switch on the PSU then the PSU isn't experiencing a fault.

Ok will try to troubleshoot.

And just to be clear, the problem might be that the PSU simply isn't good enough to power your system.  Often times these sketchy PSU's aren't good enough to power a system calling for half their power.  But I can almost guarantee the PSU isn't faulty.
