Is this dangerous

I'm trying to power a floppy disk drive with its old PSU without the motherboard. I saw this video 

 And the guy says that you can just put a paperclip on the green and black wires and power it up. I was hoping I could do this to power my floppy disk drive so I can use it to try and play music with.

This is the video that I was following to play music with a floppy disk

 I could either...

Use a PSU to power it without having to worry about overpowering my floppy

or..

Use a 9v battery and hope it doesn't short it

 

any solutions?

I don't know for certain, but I wouldn't risk it if I have a PSU that was designed to power a floppy drive.

I dont have any electrical tape, so it would be dangerous to power the floppy, too...

9V is rare in a PC its either 3.3 , 5 or 12V

so chance is 2:1

There you have it, engine goes but controlling will be difficoult

By the way, the PSU is old, so I don't know if that paperclip thing will work, but i will try

It will work on any psu.
