the R4 is more towards of a quiet build while the Midi R2 more towards cooling.

I can't justify spending more than $40 on a case, but I'd go with the Arc Midi

Arc midi is better at everything, i cant think as to why people like the define |R4 at all, being quite is for noobs. I like it loud, show my domination to the lesser race.

They are both pretty much the same thing, the noise dampening vs airflow design really makes a minimal difference to cooling performance or even silence tbh. So it really just comes down to whichever aesthetic suits you the best.

To cooling it doesn't do much, but to the noise it helps a lot, when you open the door to an R4 you WILL hear a huge difference.

That being said I would go for the R4.

Will the R4 have higher temps than the Midi?

Depends on your air flow/how many fans you have in each case.

It's not like the R4 doesn't have any air flow. It is sound dampened and, yes, the Midi is air flow optimized. That means, you could run an overclocked 4930K and 2 R9 290X in crossfire while folding at 100% and not have a problem. I wouldn't do that in an R4, but for the average build, the R4 has great airflow/cooling.

who cares...

I just want to OC like everyone else and keep good temps at load.

No problem with the R4. It's not like there's an invisible ball of cotton inside. :D I used the 2 stock fans in the front and an AF 140 in the back. I have it on 5 V all the time. For gaming i turn it up to 7, sometimes 12V (summer). -> will be enough WOOSH for what you are gonna do.

Just get which case you like best. :D

who cares...
