I want to wire two identical phone batteries together in parallel to extend my htc amaze 4g battery life. I know soldering batteries can be dodgy but please tell me if this would work, or would that just fry the phone by sending twice as many amps back into the device? Sorry, i'm a noob at this kind of stuff. These are the batteries I will be using http://www.amazon.ca/Anker-1900mAh-Batteries-Sensation-Multi-purpose/dp/B005B3RFTU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383188445&sr=8-1&keywords=htc+phone+battery

If my circuits knowledge is still correct, you'd be dumping double the current into it. I wouldn't.

And how do you plan to get the thing into your pocket afterwards?

The phone will only draw the amount of current it needs. Yes in parallel the battery can provide 2x the current but it does not "push" the current the phone draws it.

Would it kill the phone? Probably not. Would I do it? Probably not. Just get an external backup battery.

I second that, if you have the battery to spare it might pay off, ima stay following this to see how things go

In parallel you will have double the capacity available if you use two batteries. If you really want to do it then I recommend you put a diode or two in there just to be safe.

Alternatively you could do what I did the other day and order an external battery bank. The Anker Astro 2. They're on sale at the moment on Amazon. I got the 9000mAh one for £30 (usually £100)
