Was wondering if a i5 6600k would good enough to stream while playing games on twitch without going over the 300 dollar price point?

I know people say the i7 would be better but seen quite a few people say the i5 can do it and should be enough but I would just have an easier time with the i7 so is there any truth behind that?

I will be primarily just playing games on it rather than streaming but my plan is to go to an i7 at some point but not sure when.

You can stream easily with the i5 6600k. The i5's don't have hyperthreading and typically have less threads, but Twitch streaming is easily possible. I've streamed through a shitty Acer Aspire X1470, but it's all about what quality you want to stream in.

Best regards, Mikkel
