Hi, Hope someone is able to help me resolve this..

recently my pc started giving me this message when i boot up (see attached image) and i have to reboot about 2/3 times until it allows me into the Bios screen where i need to reselect my Samsung M.2 card to the Boot Device.
i would've assumed that it would save this information but after i shut down pc it happens again.

my pc has been built a year now with the following drives all connected correctly:
Sata1: Samsung 750 evo SSD 250GB
Sata2: WD HDD 3TB
Sata3: Seagate HDD 5TB
Sata5: Samsung 850 evo M.2 500GB (boot drive) -connected directly to motherboard but uses Sata port 5

what would be causing this to happen and how can i fix it?

Did you select the correct boot drive in BIOS? it sounds like you are selecting the drive from the boot menu, which is for one time drive selection. Instead, boot into UEFI/ BIOS and set your boot priority to the M.2 Drive.

yeah each time i have to reselect it as the primary drive and put it back to the top of the boot list, plus it was originally set to boot from the M.2 card from when i first built it, it has worked fine for a year then suddenly started doing this, just installed latest bios, going to shut down and restart pc a few times to see if its worked

@0x1e the time is correct plus i thought the batterys lasted years?

i guess i could try putting a new one in

They do when they are new.

However you have no idea how long that battery was sitting in a warehouse before it went into your motherboard.

It's not a race to the bottom.
