I am planning to build a gaming PC soon and before I get all excited and buy everything blindly, I would like to get some good advice. I admit though that I'm not much of an expert myself and I apologize if my build seems funny.

Budget : <$2000 USD (Just for computer)

Use : Mostly for gaming purposes, a bit of light video editing as well.

Monitors : 2 27" 1080P Monitors

OS : Windows

CPU : Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0Ghz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler : Noctua (NH-D14) CPU Cooler

Motherboard : Asus X99-A II

Memory : Corsair RAM DDR4 Vengeance LPX 8GB x 2 units

Storage : WD 2TB 3.5" HDD - 64MB SATA III & Samsung 120GB 850 EVO

Video Card : MSI GTX 1070 8GB Gaming Z 8G

Case : Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-ALPHA

PSU : EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Gold

Case Fans : 2 x 120mm Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM Fan (Along with 3 x 120mm fans included in casing)

Do let me know your opinions on this build. I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you!

Can't use a 6700k on a X99 board, you'd need an extreme chip (2011-v2 socket) for X99.
Swap the motherboard for a Z170 board. everything else seems decent.

Also i'm guessing you mean 2000 for the computer, not the actual cpu? lol

Thanks so much man. One more question, is my PSU an overkill? And it shows of me being a rookie huh haha

850 is a little overkill, a 550 would be fine for that build. Not sure you can get G2 550 watts but you can get Corsair RM550x's, just as good as the G2's.

Or a seasonic SS660. That would land power vs performance right in a sweet spot.

Quite a bit more expensive than a rm550x though, £80 more in UK, so like $100 lol

The RM550x's are already at tier 1, so not much reason to pay that much more for something of "equal" quality.

Use PCPartpicker in the future it will help you sort of some of the incompatibilities.  I'd personally recommend the i7-6700k with GTX 1080 in your budget. Also get at 240GB for your SSD, 120 doesnt really cut it and the price difference is minimal.

Will a Z170A Gaming M3 by MSI be better or the Krait can offer more? And can they be overclocked?

Overclocking is dependent on the chipset. Z170 is what you need to overclock the i7-6700k. I haven't compared the M3 and Krait in detail. I chose the Krait because I've used one of the older versions before and liked how it looked. They are probably quite similar.

I checked and Krait has a type-c port while the M3 doesn't. M3 has killer ethernet instead of intel. Really, there aren't any major differences between the two. It would come down to the price.

While it may be true that it's top tier, there are a few things that separate them, such as the amount of modularity. it'll basically run one mid tier 1070 (one 8-pin power, forget anything that used 10 phase) and a handful (three) SATA chains. It's also 80+ Platinum making it SLIGHTLY more power efficient (if that's a thing for you). For a 10 year warranty and future expandability (future-proofing) i'd say the SS is the clear winner of the two.

Buy once cry once mate. It's the only way to do this and not regret.

The nex-g's arent the best power supplies.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139144&cm_re=rm550x-_-17-139-144-_-Product

That rm550 is $75 after a rebate, i'd personally grab that one.
