help with rar files please :)

its pretty simple im modding tf2, and i acedentelly set .RAR files to open in notepad wich is causing the mods to not work anywone know how to fix this or am i f*#?ed ??

right click, open with, click the box that says set as default.

You just opened a file how come it does not work? How did you normally use the TF2 mods?

chose another app. Then it should give you an option check box to set as default.

once you click on choose another app, you will see the option to "always open with"

well im feeling sufficantly stupid cus if you mean that chek box it isnt that and theres nothing elce i can see that says always open with

I said "always open with" the checkbox you see is "always use this app..."

c'mon man, I think you can figure that one out on your own.....

Unless the problem is that you don't know what application to use for opening .rar files, and that's a different topic altogether. I prefer 7zip myself.

Open it via WinRAR or Winzip they have built-in features.

Download and install WinRar if you don't have it. Then follow those same steps above.

lol, you gotta choose the app you want to use, then hit "always..."

I'm assuming you are just setting notepad everytime. download 7zip, its the bestest. WinRAR is 'gabbage
