I recently bought an r9 280x from Craiglist to put into my brothers computer. When I put it in, it wouldn't display anything so I started getting worried it was broken but then I put it into my rig and it worked. So then I thought maybe it's the pcie slot so I put in an r7 260x but it worked. What could be the problem? The PC has a 80plus certified 500w thermaltake psu. The reason Im telling you the psu is that the only problem I see is the psu. What do you guys think may be the problem? Also one of the fans won't spin. I took it out and removed the back sticker and saw no bearing. What do I do to fix that? It's a gigabyte card. Please help

This is going to sound really obvious, but have you tried to uninstall then re-install drivers and other software???
