I need help! i want to upgrade my cpu i bought a couple years ago but i don't know what i can buy without it not being compatible with my motherboard. I only have enough money for a cpu so any suggestions to get a new motherboard and a new cpu won't be helpful. I have a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 6.0) AM3+ motherboard and a AMD FX-4300 Vishera Quad-Core 3.8GHz (4.0GHz) Socket AM3+ 95W cpu. Any help would be appreciated!

Check for a cpu with the am3+ socket

So as long as its a am3+ im good? I just didn't want to buy something that wouldn't work. What would be a decent upgrade from what i have that won't break the bank? I have roughly $100 to spent. Did a 3dmark test and the cpu test was a dismal 5-6fps.

What graphics card do you have? Just so you don't buy a better cpu than graphics card if your only doing gaming on it.
