Hello Guys , i bought an Asus GTX 1060 Strix OC and now its time to upgrade the PSU.

I was thinking to buy Corsair RM650X or RM750X which in my country(Greece)they are about 112€(650x)-125€(750x). Do you think its good choice for an upgrade?

Now i run my PC with:

Motherboard : Asus B85-pro gamer

Cpu : i3 4170 3.7 Mhz

Ram: 2 x 8 Gb Crucial 1600 Mhz

Psu : 750 Watt chieftec (CFT-750-14CS_

Case : Thermaltake Armor +VH6000BWS

I would pay the 13 extra bucks for the RM750X.

Highend PSU´s like this live very long and it will stay silent with enough headroom.

Look for a 450W-550W PSU, with 650-750W you will probably get less efficiency as you go down the curve.

Look at the AX 1200 efficiency chart for instance:

It's better to be around 50-60% load than 40-30% for efficiency.

Thanks for the answers everyone

@Castdeath97 so you are telling me that the 650w is more efficient than the 750w. but is there any real difference between the 91.6 and the 92.3?(its random numbers but as i saw from the image its close enough)

I don't believe that is such a big difference between the efficiency of this this two. Am i right?

Yes in your case it will be, and with 550-450W it will be even more so.

Not a big difference yes, but might as well take it since 450w-550w PSUs are cheaper.

This video is kinda relevant:
