I've been obsessed with watching LTT, Techsource, Austin Evans, JazTwoCentz, etc. for the past like 8 months now, and I've come a long way in my knowledge of computers. It all started when my cousin said "Let's build ourselves some gaming PC's, you learn how to do it and I'll pay for it."   That dream of it being paid for is long gone, however I've yet to cease being excited to build computers. So.   I want a computer that can run a minimum of 1080p at decent settings (preferred ultra obviously, but I could stand to play at medium) on most AAA titles. Witcher 3 and the likes excluded. I also really want to be able to play Rocket League at 144 fps some day with this rig. I'm planning on buying the parts over a span of a few months, with a goal of roughly 500 dollars. The price is kinda iffy since I plan on spanning this overtime. I'm pretty confident in my list's ability to satisfy the majority of my concerns while providing an easy upgrade path in the case I find it doesn't. But at the end of the day, I've never had a better gaming experience than the PS4, so I am certain this will outperform. Just any thoughts are appreciated!

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/R2Twm8

P.S.: Looks were considered, I plan on actually using the M.2 form of that SSD, and the RAM would eventually be upgraded to 16gb.   The order of purchase is mobo > CPU > RAM > PSU > GPU > Windows > Case

My theory behind that order is that I can use an old laptop hard drive to use windows for a while, oboard graphics will suffice until the GPU purchase, and the entire system can run on a shoebox until I can afford the gorgeous Air 240.   Again, any thoughts or tips on how to maybe cut the price down on windows or transfer OEM windows 10 from a laptop hard drive to an M.2 SSD would be great. Also feel free to tell me I'm an idiot first time builder if there are any major flaws here. Thanks Guys

build doesn't seem like a $500 pc :P can recommend the deepcool dukase instead, cheaper and you get a psu shroud with it. also, psu is quite mediocre, get the seasonic s12ii 620w instead. i'd consider a crucial mx300 for the ssd instead of the WD blue.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Not sure about Rosewill Glacier. Safe bet is get a Seasonic S12II or CX450M

bro, the 850 evo is $95 iirc, this is cheaper.

That build screams bad value to me. Let's change that, and give you a massive performance upgrade while we're at it.

Seriously, no 1050 Ti is worth $160 when for $170 you can get a 25% faster card, and for $220 a 40% faster one.

You can get something better for that price

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kFqqr7 Quad core CPU so you can fully utilize the 1050ti and it runs games far better.  You won't need to replace the CPU so soon then.  Also, you get a HDD instead of an SSD.  Same RAM and case, but mobo is cheaper.

Your build won't have anywhere near the performance of an i3 + RX 480

I'll repeat myself ad nauseam: A GTX 1050 Ti's performance is not worth paying more than $135

Hes paying for it, not me.  It's only $4 more and it's a mini size.

I'm not going to debate with you over $4.

In 1080p, devs would be crazy to start requiring more than 4GB of VRAM for High settings anytime soon, so much buffer will be reserved for higher resolutions and crazy stupid settings.

I think the same cannot be said about 3GB though.

Unless the person asking is going to play a heavily threaded, heavy CPU game like Cities Skylines and very little of graphics intensive games like Witcher 3, I would never recommend i5 + 1050 Ti. It's like putting 4 foot wheels on a car with a 90hp engine

The reason I included the i5 is because whenever he feels the need to upgrade his GPU, he will most likely not have to upgrade his CPU as well.  In the long run, this can save some money and the money saved could mean a difference between a low end GPU and a good GPU.

i definitely know there are far better routes on the value side of things, but I did mention that I was concerned with appearance as well. However, I'll definitely consider going with the Vengeance RAM and the 480 instead. Another person mentioned the 480 was a better card, and if I'm gonna be spending all that money eventually anyways, I might as well wait it out a couple paychecks and go for the better card. Also it gives me the potential to go to crossfire if I ever so desire to. (probably won't, but creature comforts right?)

Also in a summarized response to the many many replies, I know my list wasn't within target of 500 dollars (at all admittedly), but that's due to my personal choices on the M.2 and pretty motherboard and semi modular psu. I will admit that I am at extreme fault for not mentioning that before.... however with Christmas and my birthday coming up, I myself would probably only be spending around 500 dollars of my own money. For storage, which I don't use as much of as most, I have a couple of old 250gb hard drives I can use to ignore the 1TB hdd for a couple months.  And since I never really plan going beyond 16 gigs for this machine in RAM, would it benefit me to just purchase a 2*4g solution and do the same when I want to upgrade?  Lastly, mentioned in someone's response, is getting the OS from reddit/kinguin legitimate? Basically, would I be buying something illegal or fraudulent?

I actually really like that case, but I'm afraid that with the matx board it's just gonna look incomplete.  But I've considered building a much more restricted budget gaming box for my girlfriend (the half gamer) sometime after this one, and that case makes for a decent choice Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
