Posted December 10, 2016 In light of all information I have gathered on the various GPUs on the market, I have narrowed down the wide array to a few that I consider buying over new year's. I have decided to settle for a 1070, as 1080 is above budget and 1060 and bellow appear to be less futureproof (I mean, it beats my current 960 any day, but you get what I mean). Considering shipping costs, any tolls, VAT and so forth, I will be considering GPUs from manufacturers listed below: EVGA ASUS GIGABYTE All models I am considering are in a poll hopefully present above. I value acoustics and backplate for the most part, LEDs second. Disregard clock speeds, power draw and so forth. I am currently more inclined to the FTW ACX* or Hybrid** from EVGA, but feel free to argue for the other models in the poll. *For the RGB and no pump noise **For temperatures and apparent silence ---I also value the known ACX VRM heat issue against possible future leaks in the hybrid. The two cost the same either way, with only 13 MHz in difference aside from aforementioned (or obvious) differences. Posted December 10, 2016 imo, the new Strix cooler is one of the best coolers ever fitted to a GPU since the glory days of the vapor-x shroud. As for the version either ACX FTW or the Regular Hybrid. ASUS GPUs for the past few generations did not excel at anything, cooling performance, overclocking, customer support, there are better alternatives for each of those categories and even all of those combined for the same price. For the RX 400 series as well, XFX GTR > ASUS Strix (unless we're considering looks here cause I like the ASUS one more visually) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/704985-deciding-on-gpu/#findComment-9009113 Share on other sites
