I'm getting an S340 Elite case for Christmas and I want to get an H80i for it too. Here is my theory:

Having the H80i in the rear 120mm will help to reduce the overall temperature inside the case rather than getting a 120/140mm and putting it in the front as the intake?

My thinking is that the CPU will have its own contained environment for temperatures and by having another exhaust fan at the top, the temperatures should be cooler overall?

All comments are greatly appreciated!

There's always trying rather than guessing

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Putting the radiator in the front will ensure it gets cooler air first. Putting it in the rear, the air will still be heated up by the graphics card, chipset, and processor VRMs.

Either way the difference is probably going to be minimal if you have good airflow in your case already.

2 140mm in the front, 1 120mm in the top and the 120mm radiator with push pull fans in the rear.

While in the back, it may be warmer because it's still pulling air from other system components.

While in the front it get's the majority of cool air, but also pushes extra heat in for other components.

Really more of, tad bit warmer CPU, or tad bit warmer other components.
