Gaming/Streaming rig

So I am in the middle of building my first specifically gaming/video editing computer. I already have a full ATX case (Thermaltake Chaser MK-1), a corsair 850W PSU, SSD and HDD. I will be doing some mild video editing and streaming on top of gaming. I plan on getting 2 1080p 144Hz monitors as well. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best GPU, CPU, RAM, and Motherboard for my build. The thing that I am most skeptical on is the motherboard. I have been looking at the Maximus VIII series motherboard by Asus, but many people have had issues with the boards. Any suggestions? My budget is $1500.

The Intel i5 6500 and 6600K are both excellent values. For gaming, these would be plenty, but for video editing you can *almost* always benefit from more power. How much video editing will you be doing? The i5 6500 and 6600K will both do video editing just fine, but if you plan to edit video a lot then the value of performance/$ might not matter as much as the render times, so which do you care about more? :)

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

I really like the Gigabyte G1 Gaming line of products. They offer great performance, however comparing them to an Ultra Durable Gigabyte board you don't get noticeable performance increases.

Go for Z170, and pair it with either an i5-6600K or an i7-6700K.

Pair that with 16GB of RAM, populate all RAM slots.

To finish the system off, go for a 1080 GPU, one with a fair bit of VRAM.

Not much, just basic stuff for twitch and maybe the occasional YouTube video.

For the board maybe an ASUS Z170 DELUXE

In that case, I'm going to double down on my recommendation and say an i5 6500 would be perfect, with the 6600K and a moderate overclock to 4 GHz being the most extream I'd recommend for your situation. The i7 6700K is more CPU then you need, and while you might notice better performance with it, it wouldn't be worth the money, in my opinion.

Yeah, I've got a G1 Gaming Gigabyte board, but recommended that my sister bought an Ultra Durable cos of the significant price difference, with the Ultra Durable board being much cheaper. As you said, it runs like a dream.
