Quite recently I have upgraded my monitor to the Asus MG279Q.

Using a 4670k oven to 4.2 on a Gigabyte Z87-DS3H mobo.

Before the upgrade I could get into the bios just fine, but now with the new monitor for almost reason it flickers when I try to enter the bios.

Ran with the MINIDP cable to my gtx 770, operating at a 2K res 60Hz (can't really run games well so a better refresh rate doesn't help).

Could it just be a cable issue or something? Both connectors are connected properly and I could see bios just fine before. Thing is it seems like it does work (I.e. Pressed f10 to save and quit, then y and enter and it restarted my pc).

Thanks!

Are you able to use DVI or VGA?

Some bios' don't work well with HDMI and DP.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Is it a BIOS or a UEFI?  I'm pretty sure it is a UEFI and you should probably update it.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Didn't think about that, will give it a try when I get back home.

Try hitting the "auto adjust" button on the monitor when you're "in" the bios.

Thank you, I'll try this first and if this doesn't work I'll attempt to use a different cable.

It's Z87. It's not uefi, it's bios. Also it is updated to the latest bios from the gigabyte website.

Z87 is a UEFI design...

If its Z87 then it is UEFI however it is an older UEFI version. A suggested above its likely because of the way you've got it connected to your monitor. Try DVI and see if that works.
