SP or AF

Hello,

 

Can someone please explain the difference between AF and SP fans, and which would I need for a Corsair Spec-m2? I'm not water cooling yet, and I plan to buy 2 additional magnetic air filters for the top 2 120mm vents.

What are you using them for. If its for case airflow, go with AF. If its for a watercooling rad then get SP.

Airflow is how much air is moved and static pressure is the measure of how well the fan can move air past obstacles. 

All fans have some degree of both airflow and static pressure and different designs can cater to one more than the other. 

Which balance of static pressure vs. airflow is optimal depends on where the fan in being used. 

For the Spec-M2, an airflow-oriented or balanced fan design would probably be best. 

If you would like specific fan recommendations, tell us where you're shopping/located, and where you're placing the fan.
