I have a dell 3008WFP, 30" monitor. It is pretty old, but it still rocks. A while back I was getting intermittent issues with the DVI connector putting the monitor to sleep once windows loaded (win10 pro). I could not get around the problem and I could not reproduce it on an old Acer 24". No biggie, I just switched it over to displayport and it has been working fine ever since.

Until last night when I updated my drivers to 376.09. Now, DVI will not run at all once win10 loads, and the displayport connector only reads and outputs 640x480. I uninstalled the drivers, restarted and reinstalled them and the issue persisted through the whole time (even on old 35X.XX drivers that win10 reverted back to). I tried to manually force 2560x1600 but the monitor refuses to respond. Both nvidia and the win10 control panels show 640x480 as the only option.

Last note. The Evga GTX 970 SC I have is a refirb unit most likely. It was given to me by Evga when my 780GTX gave out while under warranty but after the 7 series was retired.
