Does anyone know how to fix a Buffalo LinkStation Duo? I bought it W/O drives at a yard sale, but the thing won't power up fully and become active on the network. Any help would be appreciated.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

I am afraid all Buffalo's I have seen fail after a few years.

 

Use ACP Commander (GUI version is much easier than command line), you can download it here: https://www.gry.ch/Java/styled/

 

You can run some commands and enable SSH. This voids the warranty but I doubt it is still in.

 

You can then use PUTTY to SSH in and look at logs etc.
