Desk LED choices.

Holmes2468

I didn't know where to post this topic exactly but I'm going to guess here would be just as good.

I'm planning to a LED light strip to my desk, TV, and TV stand. I was wondering if anyone used the Sylvania RGBW LED Strip. I know there are cheaper options out there, but I'm a little skeptical due to the cheaper units having performance and/or sticking to surfaces issues.

I know I would at least need two of these starter packs with an expansion pack for the TV stand.

My other option is to save and go after the Phillips HUE LED strips since I already own the Phillips Hue Starter kit.

This is the kit that I use. It survived a move to southern California from Pennsylvania so it holds up pretty well.

I'll post pictures of what they look like set up if you want.

No IKEA? Where do you live? I'll add it to my "Places to Never Live" list.

You can probably get by with any LED from a reputable mark (not brand name, but known maker). Sylvania looks to be a good choice.

Yep, Just make sure you cut on the solder joints. I did this with my desk as well.

I was looking at the Sylvania because of the RGBW. The W is a 4th pure white LED.

The Hue interested me because of the fact I have the Hue hub and ai can control it all from my smart phone

I use these for my desk:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DBINHWA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They look great and have held up well for me so far. Unfortunately there isnt a pure white LED. You can get some more wire and connectors to use the extra strip.

More wire: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DPQMKBS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

connectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SVE8C16/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
