The title says it all. I bought my new BenQ monitor last friday and now I've noticed it has a dead pixel near the upper border of the screen. While it is not really noticeable it is driving me crazy. I can actually get a replacement unit from the shop. Do you guys think I should get a new one, or is the chance that'll I'll get a display with another dead pixel very high?

I don't see the chance being very high. I have an old Planar display that has one stuck pixel, but it's not dead. Check if yours if stuck or dead by gently (GENTLY) rubbing on the area. It it changes, it is stuck, but I'd still get a replacement, especially if it is that new.

It really can change. They're not exactly rare, and a lot of display manufacturers won't RMA a monitor with less than a set amount of dead pixels. I would check reviews for your monitor and see if there's a lot of people with dead pixels. If so, maybe just return it and buy something else, or just accept a replacement if there doesn't seem to be a problem with that model.
