Ram

Go to solution Solved by Coaxialgamer,

yes . it just means PC<insert ddr gen> ( in this case ddr3 , so PC3 ) - <bandwith in MB/s>

As long as it has an available slot it should be fine. Unfortunately there seems to be only one slot in your laptop.

I have Asus x75vb laptop and on it's page under specs it says: "DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM, OnBoard Memory 4 GB , 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB SDRAM" and I have a PC3-10600 ddr3(1333MHz) ram from my old laptop, and x75vn uses pc3-12800(1600MHz), so can I use pc3-10600(1333MHz) ram to upgrade it?

but is that slot available though ? Your post seems to suggest there is only one slot total .

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/x75vb Well, there isn't a PC3-10600. So what do you think can I or can't I upgrade?

Go to the manufacturer's website and check your system's comparability. Should be pretty straightforward.

There is only one slot, but its empty so I wanted to upgrade system with 4 more gigs.

then in that case you are fine , as long as it fits of course ( SODIMM vs DIMM), but since it is laptop ram you are most likely fine.
