So I've basically gotten all my parts and just trying to figure out which case to get. The biggest things I look for in a case is that it's "quiet" and can prevent or deal with dust.

The two cases I'm looking at are the Fractal Design Define S vs the Phanteks Eclipse P400s. Any thoughts on these two or is there a better alternative? My max budget for a case is $90 but preferably $75

 if possible.

Phanteks - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811854032

Edit: Just wanted to say that I'm leaning towards the Phanteks in terms of aesthetics, but if there's anything I don't know about I might go to the Fractal.

If you want quiet, get the Fractal case with no windows.... that's quiet.

If you want aesthetics, Phanteks.

I'm sure that no windows would be quieter, but would it make a huge difference? I was only looking at these two because they were labeled "silent" versions.

+1 for fractal define s

Also you could consider the r5

I'm starting to think I might just get the fractal design as well. Any reason I would upgrade to the R5?

Depends on if you like looking at the guts of your PC or not.

Well, I guess it's not a big deal, but this is my first PC I'm building and seeing all those pictures with people and their builds made me want to try a case with a window. Like I said, I can give up the window if the case will excel in dust filtering + noise reduction.

The S in P400s stands for silent. Also you can buy your own dust filters, so whats the big deal? Choose the one you like the best.

The reason for no windows is because both panels have foam on them. They decrease the amount of noise that comes through.

The Define S is newer than the R5 but the R5 is said to be a little quieter because of the difference in foam used. As for how true that is, I don't know. I only read that before I bought my R5.

I ended up buying HDD brackets that would fit the optical drive so I could put my HDD on top and take out all the drive bays.

Essentially i'm doing it like a Define S but bought into the idea that the foam makes a small difference. Otherwise I would've just bought the Define S.

The Define S is good for water cooling if that's what you're after.

I did a lot of research between the two. I also did research on the Be Quiet series and Corsair 400Q. I looked at many aspects including cable management and that's one point the Corsair 400Q lost in.

Got it. Sounds like I'll probably end up going with the Define S. Appreciate it.

I'm not very familiar with this stuff. I didn't know you could buy your own dust filters, will look into that if I ever need them.
