LAN - Tips NEEDED

Hi guys i'm a full blown LAN rookie. I'm headed to i59 - Insomnia December 8th-11th.  I really need a crash course on how to prep for LAN, what to bring what to do. When do i eat, drink, sleep, shower? How do i bring my pc and monitor? I'm going in a car how far is the walk carrying my stuff? I'm sleeping at the LAN rather than a hotel, where do i keep all my stuff? Will someone steal my pc?
