Moderately Simple Ubuntu Question

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to putting my files somewhere. Right now I have my main partition for all of the OS stuff (the OS itself and the programs) and then my partition for all of my stuff. I don't know how to automatically mount this however, and all of my wallpapers are on it. Does anyone know how to make it mount automatically when I log on? My SD card does it already, BTW, which I find weird, but yet understandable.

Next time you install Linux you can choose to install the /home directory in a different partition. For instance, I have / mounted in an SSD that has a Windows partition and /home mounted in the HDD along a data partition that I can access with both Windows and Linux (I use it mostly to install Windows games and big applications and for windows files).

I'd also recommend editing /etc/fstab. If you have more than one drive that isn't automounting then this is really the only clean way to go. I tried getting two drives automounting with udisks on startup but it just wouldn't work.

That's why I suggested the "Editing Ubuntu's filesystem table" section of that link: it edits the fstab!

Yep edit /etc/fstab, The best way to do it. Use the nano text editor.
