Windows Defender Disabled

ShivamPlays

I am the only account on this PC and it has been that way since this PC was built, however it's trying to tell me that a "system administrator" is managing Windows Defender and has it turned off.

Maybe try opening cmd.  Activate the administrator account using the command "net user administrator /active:yes"  Log onto it and see if that allows you too. You must click run as administrator on cmd for this to work.  And if you haven't turn off UAC.  Just plain annoying xD

It says the following:

System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied. C:\Users\Shivam>

Yup that's where you need to right click and run as administrator.

Let me know how it goes.  3 AM here and going to sleep.

Admin account created, and neither my original or the new admin account can change that option.

Then you're not the administrator of your machine.  If this is a OEM install, they will often times have a hidden one.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Hmm you may have to edit the registry.  It could be turned off that way.

  • Tap on the Windows-key to open the Start Menu.
  • Type regedit and hit enter.
  • Confirm the UAC prompt to continue.
  • Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender.

Try that! :D
