A week ago my GPU died. I created a thread here, at 1st it was just a few bluescreen, then blackscreen. Every time I try to reboot the system, it hangs and auto restart.

After finally I turn it back on, I realize that my gpu died. The screen all teared up and had those kind of weird stripes all over the place.

I posted a thread, asking people here, someone suggested : maybe your PSU fried your GPU. Be careful.

So a few days later I bought a GPU. RX480 4GB version. After I installed it in my pc, and all the driver and stuff, I find that my Ethernet port stopped lighting up when I boot up my pc.

Tried to reinstall driver, these error pops up. (Screenshot). Some one from the forum also suggested I should create a linux usb and try to find out whether it is a hardware problem or just the driver acting weird.

He also said that it could be my PSU fried the component. Tell me to be careful.

So I thanked him, went to sleep (11pm). Before I went to sleep, I manually switched off my PSU. (There is a button at the back of it) cos I don't want anything happen while I sleeping.

This morning I turned on the switch, boom. Ethernet port lighting up again.  Now everything is fine.

I am so confused. What am I supposed to do now????? Is my PSU dying??? I thought that shit is gonna last....... Do I need to buy a new one now just in case??? I do not want it to damage any other components in my pc..

To be fair yesterday when I plugged out the power cable of my monitor (P2416D Dell) There was a second the whole room became dark and after that single second everything went back on..... I don't know other electronics but the lighting in my room definitely "flashed" a bit. Do you guys think it was related to all these PSU drama???

The RM650 could be the source of the problem but to me it sounds like your motherboard. Could be an abundance of things. You just gotta test stuff with different hardware.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

There's no software to test that my friend. Your OS and software can't directly communicate with your PSU without the sort of hardware in a Corsair RMi or HXi, etc.

As I said, go to Best Buy, get a cheap unit to test your system with, keep your receipt, return the unit when you've discovered your problem.

Okay.... I will try my best. Cos I don't live in the US.. I will buy a cheap unit but right now my system is not having any issue at all......
