Hey guys,

First post, so hopefully this won't be too awful to read. I am heavily considering looking into newer options for my current PC setup, and am stuck as to whether I should upgrade my current PC or go completely new.

Current Specs:

Processor: Intel i5-2500k @ 3.3- GHz  3.60Ghz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 770

RAM: 8GB

MB: Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3

Cooling: Corsair H80i

Case: NZXT Phantom

PSU: Thermaltake tr2 rx 750w

I built this computer several years ago when I was way less knowledgeable, and it's seen some upgrades. Still however, i want to go to people who really know their stuff. Newer games and general use of the computer is naturally slowing down and settings are no longer all ULTRA as they once were, and i'm looking to reach that about again. Any clear issues with current build, suggestions for upgrades, or am I looking a situation where with sales coming up and new PC could just be a simplier and better option. Of course upgrading will be cheaper, but my price I can spend will be around 12-1500 if need be.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

that cpu needs an upgrade and maybe 8 gigs more ram gpu is fine if you don´t play gpu intensive games if you do upgrade that too hope this helps :)

The cpu may bottle neck a newer gpu. If you want to test this, buy a new graphics card and play around on some games and from there look at your cpu usage to find out if it bottle necks. If it does you might want to look into a new cpu as well to try and get full performance out of your machine. Also 8gb of memory is plenty for just playing games but you might want to upgrade to 16gb for future tittles.

You have 1,5k USD to spend?

Well you can also sell that PC that you have right now, and get some more cash for your new PC.

But even with 1500$ budget, you can get i7 6700k + GTX 1070 and you are more than capable of running games at 1400p ultra settings + streaming + video editing and other stuff that you wanna do.

I would just buy whole new PC, and sell yours.

1600$, and you have GTX 1080 + i7 6700k.

If you can't afford that much, you can take 650W PSU instead, less storage or just get GTX 1070 instead of GTX 1080.
