You're better off buying a new PSU, since a nice one won't blow up. Anyways, get a 7850. It's a better card.

If something goes wrong with your psu, all your components are at risk. So better get a proper one.

I've tried a cheap'ol PSU 550W on my rig, it wasn't enough. Then i put a corsair CX430 and it worked flawlessly. My card is equivallent to yours. Get my point? :D

Then you must've had a very bad PSU, because I was running a 4890 just fine on a crappy 500*W PSU

 

*On the label, it says wattage "Shall not exceed 431.5W"

Pay a little extra get a 500gb Corsair PSU and a 7950 its a great card and on newegg you can usually get them for 200 dollars with 3-4 Games so Yeah pays for the difference in games alone and you can see I didnt give you a bad idea as ive done it myself :P
