Cpu comparason.

Hello everyone.

I have been looking for a while for cpu's and found something interesting.

Why is there 2 cpus almost indenticaly the same but have a HUGE difference in price.

Intel i7 6800k (6 cores, 12 threads) 3.4 ghz   Broadwell-e (2016) ~ $379  (Amazon price)

Intel i7 6850k (6 cores, 12 threads) 3.6 ghz   Broadwell-e (2016) ~ $499  (Amazon price)

 

Both are Broadwell-e (2016) cpu's, and only difference is a bit more clock speed.

Is there some trick or difference, or it really is in that 0.2 ghz clock speed ?

i7 6850k have a much more PCI-E lanes

There is also lane difference for multiple pci express slots and devices. Someone should tell better

better get   i7 5820K.  save alot money  and just loss like 8% performance

Personally, it would depend on my overall build structure.

Do I (you) want SLI?

If yes, either one would work to be honest.

Do I want SLI and hardware RAID cards?

If yes, 6850K for more PCIe lanes off the CPU and not the DMI.

 

I don't think the $120 delta justifies the lanes and 0.2GHz clock, though.

You are saying better get 5820k then 6850k or 6800k ?

Because 6800k and 5820k are almost same price.

i7 6800k is better at single core but minor changes. at multi thread same minor changes.  in-game 3-4fps higher, in my opinion if thats same price as 5820k, i would grab it. but if its like a 100 euros more not worth. better pick higher quality gpu or spend somwhere else.
