replacing old thermal paste?

are the temps bad, taking apart your gpu for no reason isn't a good idea, but if your taking a noise/performance hit then yes, replace the thermal paste

If you want that degree extra for performance then go for it but in this case the risks outweigh the reward and you may void your warranty by doing that

Its not that hard to replace thermal paste and its probably worth it, i did it to my 1070 when i did the thermal pad mod.

Just make sure you use something not conductive like mx4
