Good day to all.

first of all here are my pc specs

cpu: intel core i3-530 (1st gen)

mobo: foxconn p55a series (not p55a-s)

I really don't have knowledge about ram/memory all i know about it is ddr2,ddr3,ddr4 and their sizes (gb) i don't have any idea about timings, cl9,cl10 etc

i'm planning on replacing my old ram stick and also I've check my motherboard and it says it only supports up to 1333mhz. but some says i can run a 1600/1866mhz of ram but it will reduce back to 1333mhz since my mobo only supports 1333mhz. i'm fine with that as long as my mobo and cpu can run it. for a specific question can i run a kingston hyper x fury 4gb 1866mhz? or do you guys have any advice to me which ram should i buy? i'm planning to get a 2 4gb of ram.

Yes, your motherboard may reduce the clocks to 1333mhz, as for things like timings, unless your going to manually OC your ram that doesn't matter

Morning,

I personally have built 2 lga 1156 builds (which is what you have too) and have run into nothing but trouble with frequencies over 1333. I had an msi h55-p33, tried 1600mhz ram, no display with both sticks. It would display with 1 stick but crash after booting into windows. Once I put 1333mhz ddr3 into it, I had no problems at all. Then, with the build at my gf's house, I used 1866 ram on a motherboard that said it could handle it, and again, no display with 2 sticks and crashing with 1. Then I put in 2x4gb g.skill sniper 1333mhz and haven't had a problem since.

Hope this helps.

hey hmm i'm not planning on overclocking and its ok if it will reduce the clock speed my only concern is will it run? for example a hyper x fury.
